Fiorentina are winless in 16 Serie A games, and now face Juventus who have won nine of the last 11 league H2Hs.
Home advantage is unlikely to give ’La Viola’ a boost either – they haven’t won in the league here since December.
‘La Viola’s’ opening home match – a 4-3 defeat to Napoli – was their first SA home game since the end of February that produced over 2.5 goals.
In fact Fiorentina have failed to find the net in five of their last six SA home games, which has also been the case in five of the previous seven competitive H2Hs held here.
Juventus have won their opening three games the last three seasons running, and look likely to continue that trend here.
Both of their victories this term saw ’I Bianconeri’ win the first half ‘to nil’, after scoring the opener by the 22nd minute.
Grabbing that all-important first goal will be a priority then, especially as each of the last five competitive H2Hs held here ended up being won by the team that opened the scoring.
Players to watch: Erick Pulgar (FIO) has two SA goals so far, both penalties. He scored six goals for Bologna last term, five of them from the spot.
Cristiano Ronaldo (JUV) opened his account against Napoli, and netted a second-half penalty in the last H2H held here. He’s scored 17 (77.27%) of his 22 SA goals after half-time.
