Everton will be hoping to add more consistency to their season after just three wins from their opening six competitive matches.
Their fixtures have tended to start with a bang, with each of the previous five seeing at least one goal inside the opening 30 minutes.
That chaotic start appears to remain throughout the course of their recent games, with each of their previous three competitive matches featuring both teams scoring and four or more total goals.
Additionally, their last four competitive games all saw a goal scored after the 70th minute.
Sheffield United would have been hoping for more than two victories from their opening six competitive games, especially as one of those was in the Carabao Cup, yet their league fixtures this term tend to come alive in the second half, with eight of the 11 goals in their five matches coming in the second half.
Notably, United scored the game’s final goal in three of those league fixtures.
The ‘Blades’ have lost two of their previous three competitive meetings with Everton, although they may be boosted by the fact that the ‘Toffees’ have lost each of their two previous matches vs newly promoted sides.
Players to watch: Dominc Calvert-Lewin (EVE) faces his former team for the first time after ending a six-month goal drought last week vs Bournemouth.
Former Everton captain Phil Jagielka (SFU) also faces his old club for the first time. He scored in his final start for the ‘Toffees’ at Goodison Park last season.
