New Uganda Cranes head coach Jonathan McKinstry unveiled at FUFA House Mengo

Federation of Uganda Football Associations (FUFA) has appointed Jonathan McKinstry as the Uganda Cranes coach.

New Uganda Cranes head coach Jonathan McKinstry is welcomed by FUFA CEO Edgar Watson at FUFA House in Mengo

The 34-year-old Northern Irish replaces French tactician Sebastien Desabre who stayed in Egypt after the Africa Cup of Nations to work with Pyramids FC.

Since the departure of Desabre, Police FC tactician Abdallah Mubiru along with Onduparaka’s Livingstone Mbabazi have been in charge of the team.

Starting Monday 30th, September 2019, FUFA says the former Sierra Leone and Rwanda head coach will now ake charge on a permanent basis.

“There is no doubt that the Uganda Cranes job is one of the best jobs in international football across all over Africa,” McKinstry told media upon appointment.

“Excited to be here. The players here are the group I believe we can achieve a lot with.”
