• KCCA FC vs SC Villa • StarTimes Stadium, Lugogo

KCCA FC will target quick recovery as they take on rivals SC Villa in the Kampala derby on Friday in Lugogo.

The league champions come into the game on the back of a 2-1 loss to Mbarara City FC and will hope to avoid further slip up in the title race.

Mike Mutebi, the KCCA FC manager who was not on the touchline at Kakyeka Stadium after the team bus left him believes this is a game they want to win to close the gap on the table.

It is an important game for us. We want to win to bridge the gap between us and the leaders. We know, SC Villa has greatly improved this season and they have good players, so we shall give them the respect they deserve but our target is to get maximum points.

SC Villa is unbeaten in the last 13 games and have only lost one game this season, that was a 1-0 loss to new comers Kyetume FC in the season opener.

Coach Edward Kaziba who returns to the team after missing the game against Onduparaka FC due to national team duties (Crested Cranes) indicates it will be a tough game for either side but he is optimistic for a good result.

It is a big game for the two teams. KCCA FC come on the back of a loss and would want to make quick amends. SC Villa has had a good run recently and we would want to end the first round on a high.

KCCA FC welcome back Allan Okello and Musitafa Kizza who missed the trip to Mbarara due to injuries.
