Tanzania’s head coach Ettiene Ndayirajige has a provisional squad of 32 players to commence training ahead of the CECAFA Senior Challenge Cup to be played in Uganda.
Ndayiranjige has decided to leave out a couple of experienced players to give a chance to fresh talent including the highly rated Pius Kelvin John.
The budding striker who was CECAFA U-20 Most Valuable Player and top scorer is part of provisional squad for the Kilimanjaro Stars.
He comes ahead of Simba FC skipper John Bocco who was left out of the team named on Friday.
First choice goalkeeper Aishi Manula is back in the squad after missing the CHAN qualifiers and the first two AFCON 2021 qualifiers due to fatigue.
The squad has experienced goalkeeper Juma Kaseja, defender Kelvin Yondani, midfielders Salum Abubaker and Jonas Mkude among others Tanzania who are in group C alongside Kenya, Zanzibar and Djibouti have won the annual competition three times in 1975, 1994 and 2010.
The tournament kicks off on December 7 and will go on till December 19 in Uganda.
