Vipers SC Vs Kyetume FC

St. Mary’s Kitende

Uganda Premier League Leaders Vipers Sports Club will hope to extend their status at the top as they start the second round at home against newcomers Kyetume FC.

The Venoms welcome the Slaughters to St. Mary’s stadium this Friday bearing in mind that they are just a point adrift of second-placed KCCA FC who won 1-0 against Mbarara City FC.

Coach Edward Golola believes it important to start the second round with a bang if they are to keep their title ambitions alive.

“This is the most important part of the season and you want to start it on a high. Every team tends to fight hard in the second round and therefore every game requires maximum focus.” He said.

New signing Paul Mucureezi who joined Vipers SC from Mbarara City is likely to make his debut with Golola indicating he has adapted to the system in no time.

“He has been training with us for the last days and he has adapted to the system so we hope he will play tomorrow.”

On the other hand, Vincent Kayizzi, the captain of Kyetume FC who formerly played for Vipers SC indicates they are ready to put up a challenge.

“It is always a tall order at Vipers SC but we go there with confidence after training a lot and I feel we are in good shape for the game.”

The reverse fixture ended in a 2-1 win for Vipers SC at Mandela National Stadium.
