Barcelona defender Nelson Semedo has revealed the club’s new Coach Quique Setien has total confidence in him.
The Portugal international had been widely linked with an exit from the Camp Nou last summer with Atletico de Madrid among the clubs strongly mentioned in relation to his transfer.
Semedo has played the full 90 minutes in each of the last four matches for the Blaugrana.
“Things are going well for me, the new Coach trusts me a lot and what I do is work as hard as I can to justify that confidence,” Semedo explained, as cited by Diario Sport and initially published by Portuguese newspaper A Bola.
“This may be my best season in Barcelona. I am very happy with what is happening to me, it is a pity that the team is not leading (in La Liga). But there is still a lot of games ahead of us and we can still become champions.”
